Everything described in this blog actually happened. Each door slammed, and locked, in the face of one homeless person is one slammed and locked in the faces of them all. Each careless putdown, and those not so carelessly made, will be noted. As will the simple acts of kindness from people who, despite the ways in which popular culture has conditioned society to regard the homeless, remembered how to be human beings.

Pause, then, before you suggest to someone dressed in old, worn clothes that don’t fit, to go get a job. The person just might have a way with words, a deep memory, and a knack for blogging.
